Bob RodriguezDirector, Network Procurement at Sprint
Robert (Bob) Rodriguez, MBA, JD, is Head of Network Procurement at Sprint and is responsible for sourcing and procurement all of the company’s Network Equipment, Software and Services. In this role, he focuses on near term and long term technology programs as well as driving cost savings, avoidances and synergies. Additionally, Bob is a Member, Board of Advisors for GenXcomm Inc., an Austin based firm commercializing a self-interference cancellation solution to enable very low latency, true full duplex communications.
In three plus years in the role, Bob and his team have successfully delivered agreements for leading edge technologies enabling Sprint to launch the USA’s first truly mobile 5G network and its Curiosity IOT service platform as well as deploying a host of other next generation network solutions.
Bob has over 20 years of communications industry experience including positions in technology strategy, business & corporate development and procurement. Immediately prior to his current role, he was Director of Procurement at LightSquared, a satellite-terrestrial startup, and an industry consultant supporting multiple carriers’ 4G network procurement efforts. Before these roles, Bob spent 6 years at Nextel and Sprint Nextel driving cross-company, next generation technology procurement initiatives (including Push-to-Talk, 3G technology selections and WiMAX implementation agreements).
Bob has a Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida. An avid cyclist, Bob divides his time between Overland Park Kansas and his longtime home in Reston Virginia.
