Nicolas KeutgenChief Innovation and Marketing President at Schréder Group
Nicolas Keutgen, chief innovation officer at leading outdoor lighting expert Schréder, is in charge of driving the 110-year-old worldwide company’s research and development division. Mr. Keutgen graduated with a management engineering degree from Université Catholique de Louvain as well as a CEMS Master’s degree from ESADE, Barcelona. He held various roles at French industrial group Schneider Electric for nearly a decade before launching his career at Schréder in 2007. Mr. Keutgen represents the fourth generation working at the family-owned company, which was founded during the first industrial revolution.
Prior to relocating to Brussels, Belgium to head up Schréder’s research and development, product design, and marketing initiatives in May 2016, Mr. Keutgen managed Schréder’s subsidiary in Hungary. He later moved to São Paulo to head up the group’s South America region, also acquiring responsibility for North America. Belgium-based Schréder operates in more than 45 countries across the globe, with significant market share in the U.K., France, and Germany among others.
Born in the Belgian countryside, Mr. Keutgen passionately supports the environment. Schréder’s long-term vision for sustainability and energy efficiency attracted him to the family business, and he was a proud member of several nature preservation associations. He is also invested in the future of cities and believes in the potential of technology to transform society in the 21st century.
A natural fit with the long-term vision and focus around sustainability at Schréder, Mr. Keutgen brings these passions to the group along with the multicultural experience that stems from living in over a dozen countries. He speaks 7 languages and is strong believer in social entrepreneurship.
