John T. Chapman is the CTO of Broadband Technologies and a Fellow at Cisco. Early projects included inventing HSSI, the 3000 router, Smart Serial, and Mueslix, the first full-custom ASIC at Cisco.
John co-founded the Cable BU in 1996 as in internal start-up, which at its peak, achieved an annualized revenue of $1B. John has led the cable industry in architecting DOCSIS, including inventing bonding, DSG, M-CMTS, Remote PHY, FDX DOCSIS, DTP, and LLX.
John graduated from the University of Alberta with a BScEE, is a graduate of Tuck's Executive Leadership Program at Dartmouth College, a member of the SCTE Hall of Fame, a member of the Cable TV Pioneer society, and holds over 130 filed or issued patents.
