Derek Johnston is the head of networks marketing for Samsung Electronics America where he manages marketing and 5G business development efforts for Samsung’s North American Networks division.
Derek, who joined Samsung in 2015, has nearly 20 years of, technical marketing, product management and channel management experience in the wireless industry. Prior to Samsung, Derek led global marketing for Corning’s Wireless division where he was responsible for all elements of marketing including strategy, management of channel marketing programs, demand generation and on-line marketing. Derek previously held a variety of leadership roles in product management, marketing and sales management at MobileAccess Networks (acquired by Corning), Aptela (acquired by Vonage) and Sprint Nextel Communications where he led channel development and management, service pricing and analysis and field marketing.
Derek holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Boston University and Masters of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Management at Clark University.
