Best 5G Trial Between an Operator and Vendor

This award recognises the best partnership between an operator/enterprise and vendor contributing towards 5G R&D trials. This award is open to all companies capable of sharing details of the trial, results and outcome in the form of a case study. 

Judges will look for:

  • An outline of a the best 5G & vendor trial- key outcomes, best practise.
  • Specific characteristics which make the trial successful/unique.
  • A demonstration of the benefit to operators and consumers, with case study examples where appropriate.
  • An explanation of the KPIs by which success has or will be measured.

2. Describe the trial in relation to its innovation and unique experience facilitated (300 words max).

3. How has the impact of the solution been measured and what have the results of the trial been? (300 words max).

4. Describe why this trial has been best partnership and most impactful towards 5G development (300 words max).

Outstanding Contribution to 5G R&D

This award will recognise an individual or collaborative effort in developing a vision and technology for 5G and future network deployment. The award is open to companies capable of demonstrating that they have made a significant contribution to 5G network development and research, and how this will impact future infrastructure and deployment.

Judges will look for:

  • An outline of a milestone achieved/ innovation towards 5G R&D.
  • Specific characteristics which make the contribution successful/unique.
  • A demonstration of the benefit to operators and consumers, with case study examples where appropriate.
  • An explanation of the KPIs by which success has or will be measured.

3. How has the impact of the solution been measured and what have the results of the trial been? (300 words max).

4. Description of the expected impact on/significance for 5G network infrastructure, roll-out and management (300 words max).

Best Connectivity Solution

This award recognises the best connectivity solution used for a service/ product that addresses a specific challenge, or enables a specific outcome that was not previous achievable. Companies should have devised an innovative solution which will help revolutionise the market, and make a significant impact for future IoT network/ architecture/ technology development.

Judges will look for:

  • An outline of the connectivity solution.
  • Specific characteristics which make the solution successful/unique.
  • A demonstration of the benefit to operators and consumers, with case study examples where appropriate.
  • An explanation of the KPIs by which success has or will be measured.

Best 5G Core Network Development

This award recognises the best 5G core network development solutions, which will aid development of the core to support 5G & services that will be deployed over it. Companies should be able to demonstrate/showcase user case study where the solution has been used and share details of why & how it’s been successful. 

Judges will look for:

  • An outline of product/ service towards 5G Core Network development.  
  • Specific characteristics which make the core development successful/unique.
  • A demonstration of the benefit to operators and consumers, with case study examples where appropriate.
  • An explanation of the KPIs by which success has or will be measured.

Best Use of Virtualization Technology

This award is open to companies capable of demonstrating successful use cases of virtualization technology/ network and are able to share the details of facilitating this deployment in the past 12 months. Companies should have devised an innovative use case of the solution to make it successful.

Judges will look for:

An outline of the best use case of virtualized technology, sharing details of why this solution has made the a significant impact on the use case.

Specific characteristics which make the virtualized network/technology successful/unique.

A demonstration of the benefit to operators and consumers, with case study examples where appropriate.

An explanation of the KPIs by which success has or will be measured.

Best Network Development (Operators only)

This award recognises mobile network operators who have made substantial development in their networks contributing towards the road to 5G. This development can be in LTE networks or contributing to 5G network development. Companies should be able to demonstrate how it has impacted end-users, along with sharing details of the network development.

Judges will look for:

  • An outline of the development carried out, and its impact on the commercial landscape.
  • Specific characteristics which make the network development it commercially successful/unique (e.g., LTE, LTE-A, LTE U/Pro, 4.G).
  • A demonstration of implementation and impacts in real-life market conditions, with case study examples where appropriate.
  • An explanation of the KPIs by which success has or will be measured.
