Nicke Svanvik, MSc, PhD joined Karolinska University Hospital as Chief Innovation Officer/Director of Innovation and Development in June 2017. As part of the executive team, Nicke is responsible for the overall innovation agenda at Karolinska and his team encompasses The Center for Innovation as well as the Biomedical engineering group. Nicke is also the program owner of the NKS project equipping the new hospital with state of the art medical technology to enable highly specialized care to be provided on a national and international level.
Nicke has 20 years combined international experience in the Life Sciences and Medical device industries in various leadership roles including President & CEO, Head of R&D, marketing and business development where enabling technologies and innovation always have been central elements. He holds MSc in Chemical engineering and a PhD in molecular biotechnology.
