Lillian Barnard
Director for Public-Sector at Microsoft


Lillian Barnard is currently the Director for Public-Sector at Microsoft South Africa, based in Johannesburg. She was previously Chief Sales Officer for Vodacom from October 2014 until August 2016. She served on the Board of Vodacom South Africa for 18 months before joining the business.

Lillian started her own consulting firm, LillianB Consulting Services and operated for three years; an independent consultant and advisor to business leaders. She also sat on the board of Mango Airlines and the Dad-fund Non-Profit Organisation. Lillian previously worked for 15-years in the IT Industry for IBM; and was based for 7-years at the IBM European Headquarters in France and Switzerland; she held many key positions during her tenure, which has enabled her to travel extensively around the world. She is has successfully led many large Sales teams locally and globally and has received many esteemed awards during this time. Lillian is also a speaker, author and mentor; her quote book “I Hope you feel Inspired” was launched in Sept 2014 and is available on She was featured as the Powerhouse in Destiny Magazine in 2013; interviewed on the Azania Mosaka - Power Lunch Show on Power FM in 2014; and profiled in 2015 Brainstorm Magazine with the heading under “Born to lead” Lillian is very passionate about the empowerment and advancement of women, and she has a personal mandate to develop Africa’s next generation of leaders. She is patron of the Dream Girls International Outreach and Mentoring Programme of South Africa.
