Bora Varliyagci
CEO at digitalthings

Bora has over 18 years’ international experience in the telecommunications industry and emerging markets. He has successfully set-up new businesses and practices, established and managed large project teams, pioneered strategic alliances and partnerships between both industry players and investors and led the development of practical solutions to complex business challenges. He lived and worked in Turkey, Philippines, Indonesia, India, France, Austria, Nigeria, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Africa and conducted business in more than 30 countries. His understanding of African telecommunications market and extensive yet not traditional background in management consultancy, strategy,  sales & business development and project management, combined with his international experience uniquely positions him to undertake challenging leadership roles. His business engagements included communication service providers, funders and investors, regulators and technology vendors both in private and public sectors.

Bora thrives to contribute expansion of broadband footprint globally and digital inclusion as a human right. He has been elected to become a board member of FTTH Council Africa in May 2016, an independent, not for profit organisation that believes the development of fibre based broadband access networks will enhance the quality of life for citizens in South Africa and Africa as a whole.
