Dantagos has sixteen years of experience in the local and international business, financial services and media sectors, and has been developing public interest focused training programs, creative concepts, media productions and campaigns in the areas of health, education, financial literacy and environmental conservation for corporate, public sector, and NGO clients for over seven years, as the founder of Ndapunikwa Investments and Destination Africa Media Group.
Ms Dantagos Jimmy-Melani holds an MBA from Maastricht School of Management (The Netherlands) and a Bachelor of Science in International Management from La Roche College (Pittsburgh, PA, USA). She founded Ndapunikwa Investments in 2011, and has consulted to clients in this capacity across a range of business functions including, strategic communication, media and creative content production, marketing, investments and corporate governance. In 2016 she was nominated and became a finalist for the prestigious Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government Award for 2016, by CEO Global. In 2018 she was nominated again. Since 2011, she has focused her attention on socially responsible media production, nation building and educational content creation for various media platforms. In 2018 will be producing a feature film commissioned by the Namibia Film Commission, entitled “Hairareb”.
Her Film and Media Production clients include the GIZ, Sanlam Namibia, Old Mutual, the Financial Literacy Initiative, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health and Social Services, the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and the Payments Association of Namibia, among others.
Dantagos has served as an Equities Analyst, and Dealer for IJG Securities; as Business Development Manager, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Director for Alexander Forbes Investments; Deputy Director Investments & Domestic Markets, and Financial Market Technical Expert at the Bank of Namibia; as a member of the Long-Term Insurance Advisory Committee to the Minister of Finance at the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA), and has been a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Allan Gray Namibia, the Namibia Institute of Corporate Governance, and the national railways operator, TransNamib. She has also served as a Trustee for the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation.
