Dayo OlopadeContent Partnerships at YouTube
Dayo Olopade is a media executive, content strategist and product specialist for Google based in London. As the lead for YouTube content partnerships in Sub Saharan Africa, she negotiates product and licensing deals within the sport, entertainment, news, and music industries, and actively supports the Google Next Billion Users initiative.
In her current role she has worked with broadcasters to bring football highlights and live NBA games to YouTube in 43 African territories; with record labels to spotlight and grow Afrobeats artists in the US and UK, and with newsrooms to produce Africa's first virtual reality live stream, of Barack Obama's Mandela Day lecture in Johannesburg.
Previously, Dayo has been a reporter, editor, producer, product manager, and media lawyer based in Washington, Nairobi, and New York. She is the author of The Bright Continent, a book on innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa, published globally in 2014. She holds BA, JD and MBA degrees from Yale University, and is a member of the African Leadership Network. Her first job in media was fact-checking.
