Chairman at La Clique Music Group


Falanga Djo Moupondo was raised in the Congo and Sweden. He holds Bachelors degrees in both Entrepreneurship and Ethnology from Södertörn University in Stockholm. After high school, He applied to an esteemed privately owned vocational education institute and studied Music Production while working several jobs to cover his expenses. In 1999, together with his brother Mohombi, he started the group Avalon. In it’s 9 years of existence, Avalon sold over 500.000 thousand records and was awarded best European/Caribbean act in 2003 at the Kora Awards.

In 2006, together with Mohombi and long-time friend and DJ Bruno Lopez he co-founded La Clique Music (LCM). Today LCM has offices in Sweden, UK, Dubai and DRC; it is involved in over 9 million sells and has had over 20 top 10 songs in several countries including two US Grammy Awarded song “Baddest girl in town” with Pitbull & Mohombi in 2016 and “Mi Gente” with J Balvin, Willy William & Beyonce in 2018. Djo acted as Chairman & CEO of La Clique Music until 2018, when he decided to step down from the CEO position. Stepping down from the operations of the Music companies allowed him to focus and develop the groups vision on creating a sustainable entertainment Ecosystem in Africa by investing in 3 new start-ups (MUSKA, a Pan-African Music streaming platform); La Clique Media (Media Company with 1 Radio Station in DRC); (LCD, Content Distribution company).

Besides the Music Industry, Djo is also Executive Board Director & head of Global strategy for Sodeico Holding, a Pan-African multi-Sectorial group operating in HR, Sanitation, Real estate, FMCG & Fintech sectors with 2000 employees and activities all over Sub-Saharan Africa.
