Director of TEGA at Girl Effect
Laura specialised in brand strategy and innovation for 10 years before joining Girl Effect in September 2013. Her final brand role was Head of Creation at global communications agency Mindshare. Here she co-led a team of 30 in designing data, digital and technology driven ideas for clients including Nike, HSBC, Unilever, Sony Music and Kimberly Clark. Her last success was winning the prestigious Cannes Gold Lion for Best Digital Idea in 2013.
Shortly after joining Girl Effect, Laura, working in partnership with the Girl Effect Nigeria team created TEGA – Technology Enabled Brand Ambassadors. Following a first pilot in Kano in Jan 2014, Laura has led a wider team of development, technology and research experts on an 18-month design, development and piloting journey to make TEGA what it is today – a research methodology that delivers rapid, more authentic insight into the Global South than ever before.
Laura's current task is taking TEGA to scale across the Global South serving the needs of both Girl Effect and external partners within Government, NGO and the private sectors.
