Gazprom Space Systems (GSS) is one of two Russian national satellite operators holding 30% of the satellite capacity market in Russia.
GSS operates Yamal satellite fleet, consisting of four satellites positioned between 49° east and 183° east, and advanced ground telecommunications infrastructure. Its total satellite constellation capacity amounts to 248 equivalent transponders of 36 MHz.
On the African market GSS delivers capacity of Yamal-402 and Yamal-202 satellites.
Yamal-402 55E provides Ku-band coverage over Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East, Europe and Russia. Satellite antennas form 4 fixed beams and one steerable.
Yamal-202 49E С-band has good coverage over the North Africa. Soon it will be replaced by Yamal-601, being now under construction at Thales Alenia Space.
GSS’s customer base includes over 250 companies. There are governmental institutions, broadcasting companies, Russian and international commercial service providers. Yamal satellites capacity is used for services provision in more than 100 countries worldwide.
