Telesat is a global leader in satellite communications. By combining our assets in space with our robust teleport and terrestrial infrastructure on the ground, Telesat customers can choose high performing communications solutions to serve the most demanding communications requirements.

Telesat has three high throughput satellites (HTS) in our fleet called “Telstar VANTAGE.” We also have two satellites that, together, provide high power Ku-band coverage over the whole of Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA): Telstar 11N at 37.5 West and Telstar 12 VANTAGE at 15 West which combine two powerful Ku-band beams that enable coverage of the entire SSA region. Telesat’s SSA capacity supports:

  • VSAT applications for financial services (ATMs, bank branches), government projects and corporate networks; and
  • Cellular backhaul and other connectivity that allows carriers to effectively leverage fiber capacity along Africa’s coasts.

Telesat’s is now developing a state-of-the-art LEO constellation will combine the company’s global spectrum rights in Ka-band with Telesat’s proprietary LEO architecture to deliver broadband performance as good, or better than, the most advanced terrestrial networks. Able to serve the entire globe, Telesat LEO will become a core component in satisfying many of the world’s most challenging communications needs.
