AfricaCom 2017 saw the launch of the all new Technology Arena, dedicated to mapping Africa's journey through the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The Technology Arena hosted the new AfricaCom 20/20 show floor feature, the AHUB, the Innovation Stage and TV Connect Africa.

Covering everything from IoT to fintech, the Technology Arena played host to the new AfricaCom 20/20 show floor feature, the AHUB, the Innovation Stage and TV Connect Africa. With visionary insights on future tech trends and a vibrant showcase of new digital products.

The new AHUB programme was designed to highlight the critical role of entrepreneurship in fueling Africa’s digital economy and connect African tech start-ups and scale-ups to investors. The programme featured briefings for both start-ups and investors as well as live pitch sessions, new AHUB Start-Up Academy skills workshops, sector snapshots covering FinTech, digital health, agri-tech, clean energy and ICT4D, and lively panel discussions covering topics ranging from understanding investor mentalities to developing a disruptive mindset.


AfricaCom 20/20 is a brand new show floor feature dedicated to accelerating Africa’s digital transformation. As the centerpiece of the Technology Arena, AfricaCom 20/20 hosted the Technology Arena Launch Party as well as acting as the base of our 20th anniversary celebrations for 2017. 

With a vibrant showcase of new digital solutions presented by AfricaCom’s top innovators, thought-provoking conference content built around the theme ‘providing clarity of vision on future tech trends’, and special demo pods enabling attendees to interact with next generation technologies.


The new Innovation Stage showcased next generation ICT solutions and explored the implications of disruptive forces sweeping through the converging TMT industries in Africa. It included features such as the Digital Health Clinic, and covered topics from ICT4D to Digital Skills, the Innovation stage is the hub for some of the most exciting tech trends coming out of AfricaCom.
