Aniko Szigetvari
Founding Partner at Atlantica Ventures


Aniko Szigetvari has over 20 years of experience investing in emerging markets, of which over 18 have been focused on the technology, media and telecom ("TMT") vertical.

Aniko is a founding partner of Atlantica Ventures (“Atlantica”), an African impact focused venture capital fund headquartered in Nigeria. 

Atlantica helps scale socially responsible startups in Africa, with the belief that technology companies can drive inclusive growth across the continent.  Atlantica invests in early stage tech and tech enabled startups from seed to series B rounds.  Atlantica also provides growth support guided by decades of experience and global relationships.  Focus areas are fintech, logistics, agritech, digital security, IoT and enterprise SaaS. 

Prior to founding Atlantica, Aniko spent 20 years at the International Finance Corporation ("IFC"), most recently as Global Head of the TMT Group, leading the firm's efforts from deal origination through portfolio management for 4 years. Prior to becoming Global Head, Aniko was Head of the Africa and Latin America TMT Group at IFC for 4 years. In addition to her TMT experience, Aniko also worked at IFC’s Distressed Asset Group for several years.

Aniko has over 16 years of African investment experience.

Prior to IFC, Aniko worked for McKinsey & Company, Kraft Foods International and DHL Worldwide Express.

Throughout her 20+ year career, Aniko has built a wide range of contacts across Africa and emerging markets more broadly, including entrepreneurs, companies, co-investors, bankers and consultants, as well as government ministers and regulators.

Aniko has an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the Wharton School, and an MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute, University of Pennsylvania. Aniko received her undergraduate degree from the Budapest Business University’s College of Business Administration in Hungary.
