Umang Bhatt is a PhD candidate in the Machine Learning Group at the University of Cambridge and Research Director at the Responsible AI Institute. His research interests lie in trustworthy machine learning. Specifically, he focuses on algorithmic transparency and its effects on stakeholder decision-making.
His work has been supported by a JP Morgan PhD Fellowship, a Mozilla Fellowship, and a Partnership on AI Research Fellowship. He is currently an Enrichment Student at the Alan Turing Institute and a Student Fellow at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence. Umang received his MS and BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
