AI Barometer lead at Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation

Michael Birtwistle is an Advisor at the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation (CDEI), an independent advisory body to the UK government that exists to maximise the benefits of AI and data-driven technology. He was a lead author of the CDEI’s first AI Barometer, a cross-sectoral analysis of the opportunities, risks, and governance issues surrounding AI and data use. He has previously worked on public services policy in the voluntary sector, and in legal policy.
