David Vanderpoel leads Experience Strategy at Slalom Atlanta. Slalom is a consultancy/ agency/ development hybrid firm specializing in driving innovation in business and product development. 

Since 1999, Vanderpoel has advised the world’s biggest brands on social media strategy, mobile strategy, and precision marketing. He and his teams invent new offerings which have been patented and productized by Google, IBM, HP, and North Highland. His work spans new product ideation through design, development and marketing execution with clients and partners including Facebook, Google, YouTube, Turner, Coca-Cola, AT&T, Bank of America, and many others.

Vanderpoel’s recent work in digital media has included viral album launch campaigns for Billboard #1-selling musicians, co-development of new products with social media platform owners, an award-winning music documentary, and media strategy and execution for Presidential debates.

Mr. Vanderpoel speaks on emerging technology and culture regularly, and has recently appeared as a keynote speaker for OMMA Social, the AMA, and the National Retail Federation. His work has won numerous industry awards, including Emmy nominations, Webby awards, OMMA Best of Show, MIXX awards, Communicator awards, AMY awards, CMA awards, and SNCR awards. He and his work are featured in two best-selling books on marketing, several marketing textbooks, and an IBM Redboook.

Vanderpoel and his wife, a consultant specializing in sustainability, brand marketing, and biometric technology, spend evenings watching British TV, reading books, mixing cocktails, and debating the content on the whiteboards in their home.
