James Aylward is SVP of Learner Experiences at Pluralsight, a technology learning platform that empowers developers and CIOs to close critical skills gaps and innovate faster than ever before.

Based in Boston, James joined Pluralsight in 2018 and leads the multi-skilled teams (Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science) that are responsible for developing allLearner facing experiences at Pluralsight.

James applies his extensive background in product and data science to developing Iris, the IQ
assessment tools and the overall Learner product experience on Pluralsight. Driven by human-centered design and Pluralsight’s mission of democratizing technology skills, he’s always looking for ways to advance the user experience through data science.

Prior to joining Pluralsight, James founded the Artificial Intelligence Incubator at Fidelity Labs to explore what is possible for AI and machine learning. And before that he led the concept, design and rapid development of a direct to consumer eCommerce store at Gazelle, Inc. His previous roles include leading product launches at Vistaprint, innovation manager at Staples, Inc. and various roles in information technology at firms, including Ernst & Young, LLP, The Harvard Medical School and HP Enterprise (Formerly EDS/Commonwealth Bank of Australia).

Passionate about product design and development, James is a patent holder and entrepreneur. In 2009, James co-founded NovelTea Pty. Ltd., to develop and launch LongLeaf Tea Vodka and establish the Tea Vodka category in Australia. James remains in a consultative role.
