Dr. James Cole is a Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology and Chemistry at the University of Connecticut. His research interests include characterization of macromolecular interactions; double-stranded RNA activated protein kinase (PKR); interferon antiviral defense pathway; and antiviral drug discovery. He completed his undergraduate studies in biochemistry at Brown University, received a PhD from UC Berkeley in biophysical chemistry, and completed his postdoctoral studies at Stanford University.
