Jeffrey Englander is the founder and principal of Healthcare Strategy Bullpen and has over 15 years of experience in healthcare strategy, market positioning, industry disruption, and innovation at a number of Fortune 100 firms. Healthcare Strategy Bullpen bridges the gap between digital health companies and digital health consumers such as Employer plans, managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid in order to provide for a better patient experience, outcomes, and lower costs. Given his various roles and exposure to the multiple facets of the healthcare ecosystem including work with providers, suppliers, employers, and investors, he brings unique perspective and insights to the forces impacting and disrupting the healthcare delivery market.

Prior to the founding of the firm, Healthcare Strategy Bullpen, Jeff was Head of C&I Credit Portfolio Management and Research for Capital One, N.A. In that role, Mr. Englander was responsible for coverage of the healthcare industry where he analyzed the economic, industry, and regulatory drivers. In that role, he was also responsible for identifying the industry or idiosyncratic factors that drove company and sub-sector performance. In addition, he led an industry research team that assessed competitive and strategic positioning across all industries. Before becoming Head of C&I Credit Portfolio Management and Research, Mr. Englander was Head of Commercial Credit Research and Analytics at Capital One, N. A. where he was in charge of analyzing the secular and disruptive forces impacting the bank’s lending portfolio. In that role, he was in charge of designing and coordinating assessment of broad emerging trends such as structural challenges to the post-acute care industry resulting from the shift to value-based reimbursement/home-based care, the implications and applications of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain across industries, the economic impact of the non-traditional purchasing behavior patterns of millennials as well as the effect of the shift to eCommerce and omnichannel on the retailing industry.

From 2010-2016 Jeff was Senior Healthcare Industry Analyst in GE Capital's strategic marketing Center of Excellence where he was responsible for strategic planning, market intelligence, and integrating insights into operational plans to position GE Capital and clients appropriately for the post-ACA environment. At GE Capital he worked with lending clients on employer health and benefit strategies in the face of rising economic and regulatory cost of healthcare on businesses model. He also served as the healthcare consumerism leader for GE Capital’s internal “HealthAhead” NY site wellness committee, with P/L responsibility for promoting increased utilization of urgent care, free-standing clinics, generic drugs, and patient care navigators. Jeff was also recognized as a subject-matter expert (SME) and provided the industry outlook, market sizing, and competitive dynamics of the healthcare provider marketplace.
