Charis Themistou



Charis is an expert in the field of wireline access networks having over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry working for Cyprus Telecommunications Authority. After serving in various positions related to the strategy and architecture of Access Network, he is now the regional Head of Cyta’s Access Network Design Section.

Over the years, Charis had a key role on specifying, purchasing, designing the architecture and developing all Cyta’s fixed broadband access deployments from ADSL back in 2001, to ADSL2/2+ and more recently VDSL2. In addition to his position, he is currently part of a team responsible for defining the strategy, architecture and deployment of bonding and vectoring capabilities for VDSL2, Gfast technology and FTTH network based on XG(S)-PON standards.

Charis holds a B.Sc. and an M.Eng. from UMIST, Manchester and he is Cyta’s primary representative at Broadband Forum.
