Kevin Brown
Managing Director, Security at BT

Kevin was appointed as managing director of BT Security in November 2018, with responsibility for all elements of our global security activity. In this role, he makes sure that we have the right policies and systems in place to keep the company’s assets – whether physical, logical or information – secure from attack.

Kevin is also responsible for our security market offer to customers. He ensures that BT Security provides industry-leading capabilities that protect its customers’ data & assets and drive substantial global revenue growth, while developing the pipeline of security talent that enables this. Our security team also work to actively counter cybercrime and fraud, and to minimise disruption to BT in the event of an incident.

Joining BT in 2012, Kevin assumed responsibility for several security teams and was instrumental in changing our approach to our own protection. He then ran the global investigation and intelligence teams, before taking on the wider role as director of BT Security’s global government team.

Kevin is a member of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF’s) project to tackle cybercrime. Using his experience of both public and private sector, he advises the group on activities to further the collaborative fight against cybercrime. Kevin has also developed our relationship with international law enforcement agencies such as Interpol and Europol, working collaboratively to tackle the global threat of cybercrime.

Kevin sits on the leadership team of Business in the Community, a charity sponsored by HRH The Prince of Wales, which is aimed at supporting SME resilience against key threats.

Prior to BT, Kevin worked in law enforcement for 20 years, specialising in serious crime and intelligence.
