Kristinn ÁsgeirssonDirector of Access Networks at Mila
In 2013 Kristinn became Director of Access Networks in Mila, a daughter company of Síminn, the incumbent operator in Iceland. Mila owns the copper network and is building out an nationwide fiber access network in Iceland. Mila GPON network reaches today to about 60% of households in Iceland. Kristinn started working as an research engineer for Síminn in 1997 and in 1999 he moved to the Síminn’ s Data network division. He was a lead engineer and later Manager of the Access and IP Networking department in Síminn, responsible for designing and managing Síminn’ s ATM/IP-MPLS, ADSL, VDSL2 and GPON networks. Kristinn studied Electrical Engineering at University of Iceland and master’s degree at Technical University of Denmark in 1997.
