Matthias Mieves is Head of New Business, Sales and Marketing for Deutsche Telekom’s White Label Smart Home portfolio. Matthias is responsible for the development of the Connected Home business, growing the smart home business in Deutsche Telekom’s own footprint with national sister companies, such as Slovak Telekom, and together with partner companies within sectors ranging from telcos to utilities. He is also responsible for the acceleration and further development of the Connected Home mass market business model, including the implementation of market penetration strategy across Europe and beyond.

Matthias took on his current role in 2016, after heading up Commercial Management of the Magenta SmartHome business in Germany, which included setup and scaling of Deutsche Telekom´s smart home product. He was also responsible for the definition and execution of the pricing and go to market strategy, and laying foundations for the router integration of Smart Home and combining the proposition with Deutsche Telekom´s core business and products.

Matthias has worked for Deutsche Telekom since 2010, after completing his MBA thesis on Telekom Deutschland’s Performance in Innovation Management. In his second year at the University of Mannheim, Matthias won a three-year scholarship from Deutsche Telekom. Upon graduation, he became a part of Deutsche Telekom’s Start Up! International High Potential Program, before moving on to work as an in-house consultant for the Center for Strategic Projects. As project lead, Matthias transformed and re-organized different units of DT. In addition, he was engaged in various business development projects.

 Fluent in German, English and Spanish, Matthias has worked in different management and business development roles for over seven years. Through a number of scholarships and prizes, Matthias was able to study internationally with longer study and working periods in Germany, Australia, Peru, Spain and South Africa. He has a deep understanding of intercultural steering models, product development, cross-functional and virtual teams, output-quality and long-term transformational programs.
