Patrick Farajian is the Chairman and CEO of Sodetel, a leading telecom operator in Lebanon, which offers fixed and wireless broadband services. The company is jointly owned by Orange and the Lebanese government. There, he orchestrated a successful turnaround and positioned the company on high-growth markets in both residential and corporate segments, launching a wide range of new telecom and Internet ventures.
Prior to his appointment in 2003, he was an advisor to the Ministry of Telecommunications and Ogero in Lebanon on strategy and regulatory issues. He led the preparation for the telecom sector’s reform, the creation of the regulatory authority and the formulation of the incumbent operator’s strategic plan.
Earlier in his career, he held senior positions in the planning department of Nortel Networks in Canada, focusing on the Marketing and deployment of fiber-based networks in North American cities.
He serves on the board of directors of a number of organizations and was the treasurer of the Lebanese Businessmen Association. Mr. Farajian has a B.Eng (Honors) and M.Eng from McGill University and an MBA (with distinction) from INSEAD.
