Aeneas Dodd-NoblePrincipal 5G Architect, Service Provider Business at Cisco Systems
Aeneas is a Principal 5G Architect in the CTO office of Cisco’s Mobility unit. He has spent the past few years helping service providers navigate the path to 5G, supporting Cisco’s standards activity in SA2 and developing new opportunities that 5G system can provide.
Aeneas started his career in telecom in 1999 by helping Tokyo Metallic Communications be the first DSL provider to launch services in Japan. He joined Cisco through the Starent acquisition which he joined in 2002 where he helped operators roll out and innovate their 3G networks in Japan, Europe and the US.
From 2008, Aeneas worked closely with Verizon Wireless to help deploy their 4G network culminating in an industry Award. In 2015, Aeneas joined an Alpha team in Cisco as a product manager for the Virtualized Packet Core and the network architect for the Ultra Service Platform which readies the packet core for 5G by separating the control and bearer planes.
