Colleen Josephson is a Research Scientist in Cognitive Edge at VMware, and co-chair of the Green G working group within the ATIS Next G Alliance. She is convinced that through introspection and innovation the telecom industry cannot only improve its own resource footprint, but also enable the creation of new technologies and techniques that enable other industries to reduce their resource consumption.
Her research interests include wireless communication and sensing systems, with a passion for creating technologies to enable and improve sustainable practices. She is also an active member of the Sustainability team inside the VMware Office of the CTO, serving as the Advanced Technologies representative. VMware is dedicated to Equity, Sustainability and Governance (ESG). Our ESG 2030 Agenda integrates our Sustainability goals into the business and aligns with our core business strategy, and together with our customers and partners we will redefine what it means to be a force for good.
Colleen completed her PhD in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Before beginning her PhD, she worked at Cisco Meraki as a wireless engineer. Her honors and awards include being named a 2020 Rising Star in EECS, being a finalist in the 2019 MIT Bay Area Research Slam, and receiving the Schlumberger Innovation and D.E. Shaw Exploration fellowships.
