Dan LeibfriedDirector, Automation & Autonomy, Intelligent Solutions Group at John Deere
Dan Leibfried is Director, Automation & Autonomy for John Deere’s Intelligent Solutions Group, a position he has held since June 2020. Leibfried is responsible for product delivery and commercialization opportunities related to precision technologies focused on higher levels of automation and autonomy in the agriculture, construction, and road building industry verticals.
Leibfried started his career with John Deere in 1997 at Deere & Company’s Worldwide Headquarters. In 2000, he joined John Deere’s marketing and sales organization as a Territory Manager in the Dallas Sales Branch. In 2005, Dan led a startup organization at John Deere’s Ag Management Solutions organization focused on channel development to sell and support emerging Precision Agriculture offerings. Next, Dan completed his first international assignment as a Tactical Segment Manager for John Deere Limited in Australia. In 2009, he was appointed Director, Marketing for John Deere’s Crop Care Platform and was based out of both Mannheim, Germany and Olathe, USA for this assignment. Since 2013, he has taken on increasing leadership roles in John Deere’s Intelligent Solutions Group including Director of Sales, Channel & Customer Support, Director of Embedded Solutions, and Director of Advanced Technology.
Leibfried has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iowa. He also holds an MS in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University and an MBA from Indiana University.
In addition to his work related background, Leibfried has served on various internal & external leadership boards including John Deere Political Action Committee Board Member, Technology Association of Iowa Board Member, and he is currently serving on the FCC Precision Ag Connectivity Task Force.
