Neville R. Ray serves as T-Mobile’s President of Technology. Mr. Ray has more than 25 years of experience in the design, deployment and operational management of wireless networks in the United States and worldwide and is recognized for his leadership in the telecommunications industry. Mr. Ray joined T-Mobile USA (then VoiceStream) in April 2000, and was promoted to Chief Technology Officer in December 2010, and most recently to President of Technology in December 2019. He is responsible for the national management and development of the T-Mobile USA wireless network and the company’s IT services and operations. At Mr. Ray’s helm, T-Mobile has nearly tripled its LTE coverage since 2015, has launched the first nationwide 5G network and he has led his team to a string of revolutionary industry firsts.
Prior to joining T-Mobile USA, Mr. Ray served as Network Vice President for Pacific Bell Mobile Services. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance, a mobile telecommunications association of mobile operators, vendors, manufacturers and research institutes, and the Board of Governors of 5G Americas, the industry trade association and voice of 5G and LTE for the Americas. Mr. Ray has served on both the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council (NRIC) and Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (CSMAC) for the federal government.
Mr. Ray is an honors graduate of City, University of London, a member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Outside of the office, he enjoys soccer, cars (British, of course!), and spending time with his family.
