As Senior Vice President, Technology Operations, Tobe led CCI Wireless technology plan, strategy, roadmap, and engineering team and supervised the design, architecture, and implementation of various technologies (4G/5G/Proprietary) across the network. On joining CCI, he was instrumental in growing the subscriber base/revenue by 1000 percent/800 percent with a 40 percent CAGR in the first 5 years, which resulted in CCI becoming the second largest rural ISP provider in Canada and the first service provider to deploy 4G network in Canada back in 2008. He played a key role in several successful M&A transaction including the recent sale of CCI Wireless to the largest rural service provider in Canada.
Prior to joining CCI, Tobe worked for Huawei as a Regional Network Manager, where he oversaw large scale turnkey end-to-end 2G/3G network builds consisting of 2500+ sites, 10 major data centers across 4 territories and supervised a team of 200+ FTEs and contractors. His project team received numerous awards and recognition from HQ upon success of the project. He also provided managed services to Tier 1 mobile operators.
Tobe is an entrepreneur at heart, have run several successful businesses and currently runs a management consulting practice with focus in the IT/Telecommunications sector. Has a passion in scaling businesses with a cloud centric approach and interests in security, edge compute, Private 4G/5G and O-RAN/V-RAN technologies.
Tobe has a Professional Engineer certification (P. Eng.), earned his Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo and various certifications including Enterprise Architect and Cloud Certifications
