Md Mustafa Kamal is currently serving as Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and a master’s degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Mr. Kamal has completed various training programs including Microwave Engineering training from Siemens, training on Switching Technology from Alcatel and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) training etc. and attended workshops and seminars related to the field of communication in home and abroad.
In his distinguished career in Bangladesh Army, Mr. Kamal held a variety of command, staff and instructional appointments. He was instructor of Signal Training Center and School. Mr. Kamal worked as deputy chief inspector and was responsible for implementing quality control of communication equipment. He commanded army static signal battalion, which is the communication hub of the Bangladesh Army. He served as a communication planning staff officer of Bangladesh Army. In the international platform, he held the appointment of Chief of Communication and Information System (CITS) of United Nations Peacekeeping Missions in Sierra Leone and Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). He represents Bangladesh in ICANN as Government Advisory Committee (GAC) member.
As Director General (Engineering and Operation) of regulatory commission, Md Mustafa Kamal is closely working with all internet service providers (ISP) to connect the unconnected and provide good quality internet service.
