Will is the Founder at Hummingbird Technologies, which since 2016 he has grown into the
leading European remote sensing and imagery analytics platform for Food&Ag Tech.
Under Will’s leadership, Hummingbird has raised £20m (Sir James Dyson, SALIC,
European Space Agency, TELUS, BASF, Horizons Ventures), won multiple industry
awards (Cognition X Best AI for Agriculture, KPMG start up of the year), and has built a 60
person team across 7 countries, registering 3 patents along the way. Prior to launching
Hummingbird at the Imperial College data science laboratory, where the business spent its
first year developing Machine Learning algorithms, Will spent 10 years in the Finance and
Investment sector. This included M&A and other special advisory roles at Citigroup and
Lincoln International, as well as investment management at the successful multi-billion
dollar Highclere global equity fund, where he was also a Partner. Will grew up on a farm
and is a keen sportsman. He holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School and a First
Class MA Honours degree in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. Will sits
on the Board of a Royal Marsden cancer charity, Math Engine plc, a UK public investment
fund, ZSL and is activity involved at Tech UK and COP26
