I joined Encore Tickets in 2018 as Head IT Ops & Cloud. I lead an IT department of highly skilled infrastructure, network, and cloud specialists and I’m also part of the broader management team that is responsible for the day to day operations and commercial success of the business. In this role I manage day-to-day IT operations while also ensuring DevOps practices are deployed to ensure the smooth running of over 200 e-commerce sites in our worldwide distribution network yielding in excess of £100m a year.
Starting with an interesting history of doing an Electrical Apprenticeship while still in school, my IT career really started in 2007 where I was part of the team that rolled-out Microsoft Office to more than 20,000 pcs for Suncorp Bank in Australia.
Now having spent over 10 years in IT, my career has seen me working for companies like Arup, QGC - British Gas Company, RACQ, and Seek in Australia. My DevOps journey started at Seek, where I introduced Seek to the Cloud by moving its first services into AWS. It was actually while travelling to France on behalf of Seek I fell in love with Europe and took the decision to move to Europe permanently.
My first role in Europe was as a Technical Implementation lead in Agilisys. Following that, I joined Broadbean Technology as Head Of Infrastructure/DevOps, where I was responsible for building a DevOps team, training them to move entire Datacenters into AWS with the use of infrastructure as code and Configuration Management.
I enjoy traveling - hence the move to Europe not to mention the food and good beer.
