CIO at Orlando City Soccer
Renato Reis is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Orlando City Soccer Club. He is the first high-tech executive to hold a C level title for an MLS franchise. His passion for soccer and the opportunity to play a key role in the development of the 2015 MLS expansion posed an interesting challenge to make this high-tech veteran with 20+ years in the Computer Software industry make a move to the Sports & Entertainment industry. The project included the construction of a brand new soccer specific arena, lead all tech related projects for the club, and define the technology roadmap.
Renato has worked at Sybase, IBM, Progress Software, MathWorks, and Salesforce.com. He holds a degree in Computer Science from Wentworth Institute of Technology and an MBA from Regis University. Native from Brazil, he had the opportunity to play soccer for Grêmio F.C. and S.C. Internacional academies. Renato set residence in the US in 1990 with his wife Karin Berger when he went to the New England Conservatory of Music to study Jazz.
