I am working with California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for past 29 years. My past 25 years’ experience is in working with transportation research projects in safety and mobility area. I was the project lead in developing the Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) test-bed in Palo Alto California. I was also the lead in developing the very first design in connecting the 2070 traffic controller with the DSRC radios and setting up the very first intersection in California that was compliant with the DSRC standards. I managed various projects involving the development of CAV applications including the transit signal priority, eco approach and departure red light violation warning utilizing the Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) Technology. I hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. I am also a professional electrical engineer registered with the State of California.
