Unleashing the Power of East Africa’s Tech Start-Up Ecosystem
AHUB East is back for East Africa Com 2020, offering dedicated conference content and networking space for start-ups, investors, MNOs and corporates interested in partnerships and collaboration.
AHUB East is our startup feature at East Africa Com, for you to meet with inspiring, innovative tech-fueled startups disrupting the African TMT industry.
Africa has seen a rapid increase in it's tech startup culture over the past 5 years, as technology continues to become increasingly accessible and with it, increasingly less expensive.
The region's tech startup culture is growing at a fast rate, with a number of sectors experiencing significant growth in 2018, most notably transport and mobility which saw startups raise a combined US$34.5 million, up 2,640% year-on-year. Logistics also saw impressive growth -- up almost 400% to $19 million -- while there were also notable returns for agri-tech and health-tech.
Venture funding has followed this growth, with Kenya in particular seeing $147MM in startup funding.
