As the GSMA Connected Women Market Engagement Manager for Africa, Adrine is charged with the responsibility of engaging MNO’s and their partners to make commitments to bridge the gender gap and get more women in low and middle class markets to use mobile money and mobile internet for the greater good. Adrine has over 10 years working experience with her career being predominantly in Marketing, Before Joining GSMA she worked at Safaricom Limited for 5 years, starting off as the M-PESA Brand Manager responsible for Advertising and driving usage of M-PESA among customers, a role she performed for 4 years before moving to manage Safaricom Brand communication. Prior to this she worked in the FMCG industry with Nestle, Reckitt Benckiser & Brookside Dairy Ltd in both Sales and Marketing capacities. Adrine holds a Degree in Business Administration, Marketing Major from Nazarene University and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi.
