Michael KizaProgramme Management Expert at East African Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Efficiency (EACREEE)
Mr Michael Kiza has over 20 years of work experience spanning from industrial processes to capacity building programme and policy analysis, formulation and dialogue at national and international levels. Since January 2017 he is the Programme Management Expert at the East African Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Efficiency (EACREEE). His current role involves designing and implementing programmes in the areas of policy formulation, capacity building and investment promotions on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Prior to joining EACREEE, Mr Kiza worked for seven years (Jan 2010 – Jan 2017) at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as Programme Management Officer – leading various teams in design, implementation and monitoring of several technical projects in various fields, including energy planning, water resources assessment, and climate change adaptation in agriculture, among others.
Mr Kiza also worked at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development of Uganda (2004-2009) as Senior Energy Officer – Energy Efficiency and at various capacities in the manufacturing industries (1998-2004). Mr Kiza holds a MSc Sustainable Energy Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm and BSc degree majoring in Industrial Chemistry) from Makerere University, Kampala.
