Patrick MpedzisiCo-Founder at Nahari
Patrick Mpedzisi is a co-founder of Nahari – a collective of changemakers applying creative approaches to provide safe spaces for joint decision making, communal knowledge exchange, and collaborative learning. Patrick is an organisational development consultant, trainer and facilitator with over 19 years’ experience in the development sector.
Patrick has worked extensively with NGOs, development partners, governmental and intergovernmental bodies in Africa being located at different times in Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa. During this time, he managed to open various processes for civil society organisations in to engage regional processes including the African Union, Pan African Parliament, African Peer Review Mechanism, and the Southern Africa Development Community.
Patrick has managed major civil society projects, led regional campaigns and built civil society capacities across the continent towards their goals and objectives. As an OD consultant he focuses on building the capacity of institutions to be more effective in their programmatic and strategic approaches, institutional governance, advocacy interventions and policy engagement, tracking impact and navigating change as well as to develop effective resource mobilization strategies and improve their sustainability.
Patrick is a lawyer by profession and part of a number of international leadership processes including the Transformation Thinkers, the BMW Responsible Leaders Network, Global Leadership Academy, Bosch Alumni Network as well as a Global Diplomacy Leader. Prior to working as an independent consultant, Patrick worked as coordinator of the African Democracy Forum, as project coordinator at Southern Africa Trust as well as coordinator of the African Youth Parliament.
He has also been a board member (8 Years) and founder for Africa Youth Trust as well as serving in the Youth Advisory Board for CIVICUS for 1 year. He is the current Secretary General of the Zimbabwe Evaluation Association.
