Profile
Phoebe Kiboi is the Senior Engagement Manager for the Digital Inclusion program at the GSMA. Her key role is to lead on strategic engagements with relevant stakeholders, such as mobile operators, governments, start-ups and development agencies, across Africa with the aim of connecting the unconnected. Her work focuses on enabling the digital and financial inclusion of the underserved particularly women. She does so through working with partners on rural connectivity, smartphone affordability, Digital skills and enhanced use of mobile internet and financial services.
Before joining GSMA, Phoebe conducted research on the creation of a value framework that could be used to increase adoption of technology among various societies in Africa. Prior to this, she worked as a Core Network Engineer at Huawei Technologies. Dealing with the end-to-end integration of core data systems that enable access to the internet across Africa.
Phoebe holds a Masters in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and an Undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
