Unguec Stephen KangA/Director at National Communication Authority (NCA), South Sudan
Mr Unguec Stephen is a technology enthusiast passionate about ICT infrastructure development, digital transformation and cyber security, has over 7 years of experience in the ICT regulatory sector currently working with the South Sudan National Communication Authority (NCA), as an Assistant Director for Cyber Security.
He is a co-founder of the South Sudan Internet Governance Forum (SS-IGF) and a founding member of the Internet Society South Sudan chapter. Also, Mr Stephen has been actively participating in the local Internet Governance Activities including the development of the South Sudan Cyber Security & Computer Misuse provisional bill and the Personal Data Protection bill drafting process.
With a wide spectrum of experience and expertise in ICT and cyber security, he currently leads the South Sudan national cyber security response capacity and the National Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT)
He is a graduate of Computer Applications from Punjab Technical University (India) with multiple certifications in computer networks and systems administration , and holds a master’s of science degree in Cyber Security from the University of York (UK).
