Bio
Paola Severino, currently the Vice President of Luiss Guido Carli University with a focus on internationalization, has a rich academic and professional background.
She previously served as the Rector of Luiss University from 2016 to 2018, along with roles as Deputy Rector and Dean of the Department of Law. As a Professor of Criminal Law, she is actively involved in the academic community, leading various Master's Programs and holding a chair in Cybersecurity.
Her influence extends beyond academia, as she served as the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Combating Corruption from January 2018 to December 2020.
Paola Severino has received numerous accolades, including the title of Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur from the French Republic's President Emmanuel Macron. She has been a prominent figure in the legal and academic landscape, including a role as Italy's Minister of Justice from November 2011 to April 2013.
Since 1975, she has been a practicing criminal lawyer in Rome.
