Melanie is an international innovation leader with more than 10 years experience of working in technology, digital products, and innovation for the UK’s largest media companies as well as cutting-edge startups. Mel currently heads up Technology Innovation at Sky, a function that she has built from scratch since Sky’s Innovation Lab was founded 3 years ago. She has a great passion for future technologies and tech-enabled business models and currently leads an emerging technologies programme that received significant investment from Sky’s Group CTO. As a technologist and innovation leader, Mel has a track record of working on several large-scale, consumer-facing products such as the BBC News website, BBC IPlayer, NowTV and was involved in the early-stage prototypes for Sky Glass. Her work sits at the intersection of technology, consumer behaviour, strategic foresight, business modelling, intrapreneurship, diversity & inclusion, organisational design & social impact.
