Director Cloud Strategy and Architecture at Telenor ASA

Dr. Pål Grønsund is the Chief Cloud Platform Architect in Telenor Group. He is responsible for the Cloud Platform architecture leading a global team of architects across Telenor Business and Group Units. Pål is also responsible for developing the Cloud Platform strategy in Telenor. This is a multi-cloud platform used by IT, Network, Analytics and other customer applications. Pål joined Telenor in 2007, previously working as Senior Research Scientist. He holds a PhD in Informatics from the University of Oslo (Norway) on Cognitive Radio and has been a Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Electrical Engineering at UCLA. He was the Coordinator of the EU funded Research & Innovation project 5G-VINNI. He is vice chair in the ETSI Open Source MANO (OSM) project and has standardization experience in ETSI NFV, ZSM and RRS. Important areas of work for Pål are Cloud Native, 5G and beyond, Network Slicing, NFV, SDN, Orchestration, Automation, Mobile Core and Cloud-RAN.
