Alan Hadden has 30 years’ experience in senior positions in the manufacturing, regulatory, operator, trade association and consultative sectors of the mobile communications industry. He is Director of Hadden Telecoms Limited, a mobile consultancy company he founded in 1997.
Alan was previously a member of the senior management team of the world’s first PCN/GSM1800 operator (now EE), during start-up, launch, and expansion phases during 1990-1997. He assisted with discussions with overseas regulators, investors and other stakeholders that helped establish 1800MHz as a mainstream band for mobile communications and advised on opportunities for new operator investments overseas. He represented the company in various telecom and regulatory national bodies in the UK and held representation and leadership positions in international organisations including the GSM Association and the UMTS Forum.
Before then Alan was Industrial Advisor to the UK communications regulator (now called Ofcom), working in the mobile communications field where he represented views influencing regulation and standardization at national and international level.
Alan is the author of many reports, information papers and data analysis for various clients and continues to produce widely-referenced series of LTE and LTE-Advanced networks and device ecosystems reports for GSA. As its founding President he led GSA from 1998 to 2014 to become a world-class trusted source of mobile industry information and the leading wireless industry association for mobile suppliers.
