Roland Schott

Project Manager and Architect at Deutsche Telekom


Roland Schott has been working in telecommunication business for over 20 years. He is currently working as network architect in the department of Fixed Mobile Engineering Germany of Deutsche Telekom Technik GmbH focussing on virtualisation in general and working on an architecture for enabling voice services within the cloud. Before that he was responsible for the architecture & design of Deutsche Telekom’s German IMS fixed network target solution and experience transfer into mobile IMS. He was also responsible in various projects for architecture and design solutions for example the integration of business applications, VoLTE IMS Core deployment or end-to-end MSAN POTS architecture. In addition he was also the project manager for technical engineering of the first all IP based first line voice service of Deutsche Telekom AG in Germany. Before that he was involved in the design of the IPTV network infrastructure, Deutsche Telekom’s first IP MPLS network and QoS solution. He joined Deutsche Telekom in 1996 having different positions until now. Roland Schott is also involved in standardisation bodies like IETF. Roland Schott holds a degree of Telecommunications Engineering from Technical University of Darmstadt.
