Dr. Tianzhen Hong is a Staff Scientist and Deputy Head of the Building Technology Department of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research focuses on data, analytics, modeling/simulation, and policy for design and operation of low energy buildings and sustainable urban systems. He co-leads an exascale computing project, multiscale coupled urban systems, and a model predictive control project under the U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center on Building Energy Efficiency. He is an Operating Agent of the IEA EBC Annex 66 on occupant behavior in buildings. He is an IBPSA Fellow and an editor of Energy and Buildings journal. He received B.Eng. and Ph.D. from Tsinghua University, China.
