Dennis Kengo OkaPrincipal Automotive Security Strategist at Synopsys
Dennis Kengo Oka has been involved in automotive security since 2006. Dennis received his Ph.D. in Computer Security from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden in 2009. In the past, he has worked with Volvo Car Corporation in Sweden where he bootstrapped automotive security research for remote diagnostics and over-the-air updates on vehicles. Dennis has also conducted research at SRI International in California, USA in the areas of security in wireless sensor networks and Bluetooth communication. Moreover, Dennis has conducted research at Waseda University in Japan in the areas of security and dependability in embedded systems. Prior to joining Synopsys, he worked in the Bosch group in Japan serving both Japanese and global customers. Specifically, he co-launched the automotive security practice (ESCRYPT) in Japan and was the Head of Engineering and Consulting Asia-Pacific. Currently, at Synopsys he is engaged in developing global solutions for automotive security focusing on security in the automotive software development lifecycle and the supply chain. Dennis has over 60 publications consisting of conference papers, journal articles and books, and has presented at numerous international conferences and events.
